Empowerment and Rights

At iCFDR we think that equality in all walks of life is one of the indispensable factors to development. In order to actualize that thought we want to start by spreading awareness through lectures, workshops and seminars related to human rights, legal rights and right to information. We look forward to organizing campaigns for raising legal awareness, to help the marginalized sections of the society to better understand their rights and responsibilities. We believe that the key components of basic human rights are equality of gender, female empowerment, child rights, labor rights, welfare of children from vulnerable groups, community empowerment etc.

We believe that change not only comes from educating and spreading awareness but also from creating an environment where people can have courage to come forward by holding people accountable for their misdoings. We are also working on goverance issues and use of Right to Informantion (RTI) to improve goverance.

Given the current state of affairs we also want to focus on women’s safety issues, helping women and children who have been victims of sexual abuse and trafficking, providing aid and support to women suffering from domestic violence and dowry, shelter services for destitute women and children etc.

We also plan to collaborate with other organizations that share similar vision as us, that we can support and vice versa.
